Eris is an exploration of strength, tracing the experiences of Danielle Marie Shillingford, a woman who has lost, and struggles to regain custody of her children.
In the film, the slippages between Danielle and her god-like alter ego Eris, the goddess of strife and discord, creates a continuous blurring between the fantastical, the superhuman and the absolutely mundane.
The score for the film is written and performed by Beatrice Dillon and the 'Song of Eris' is written and performed by Lioness.
In 2012 Eris: the Path of Er was performed at part of the Lux Biennial of Moving Images at the ICA, London. The film was accompanied live by vocal parts from Danielle and song from Lioness.
